The Price Media Law Moot Court – South Asia Regional Rounds were held in collaboration with the Centre for Media Governance, NLU Delhi in Delhi, India from 23-26 November 2012. As part of the expansion of the Price Moot Court Programme in South Asia, this year’s competition saw teams from the region traveling to Delhi for the South Asia Round.
The extremely high quality of judging has become a feature of the South Asia Regional Rounds and this year’s competition again had a fantastic line-up of judges. A closely-contested final between the National Law University Delhi and the National Law School of India University resulted in NLU Delhi being victorious. Five teams will go on to represent the region in the International Rounds at Oxford.

By virtue of that rule, the University of Colombo [who were Quarter-Finalists] and the Lahore University of Management Sciences qualified for the International Rounds.).

MADHAVI DIVAN earned a degree in law from Cambridge University where she was a Cambridge Commonwealth Scholar. She practices in the Supreme Court of India. She is the author of a book titled, ‘Facets of Media Law’ published in 2006.
MENAKA GURUSWAMY practices law at the Supreme Court of India. Amongst other cases, she has successfully litigated against state-sponsored vigilante groups in Chhattisgarh, defended the Right to Education Act and challenged the constitutionality of laws that punish same-sex relations. Menaka has previously taught at New York University’s School of Law and has also advised UNDP and UNIFEM in New York.
